It has patina & would look right at home on an original paint bike. This working backrest stands upright or folds flat, it appears to be complete one long bolt is slightly bent. these were patented in 1915, this one is an early version as it has a small rectangular tag that says patent allowed (my junk camera will not take a small enough pic to see it.) later versions had an oval tag with 1915 patent date. I sold it to a gentleman at Walneck's Springfield, Ohio Swap Meet its going on an original paint 1924 Harley :)
